"First Glass were contracted to carry out the external window cleaning of the Old Mill. As the name suggests the building was a former Jute mill and at one point the longest in Europe so it was not an easy building to take on. The building houses 413 students over 5 floors with sash and case windows it also holds 2 large commercial spaces on the ground floor. The east side of the building is also located on one of the busiest dual carriageways in Dundee city centre.
Due to the many challenges with access and size of the building, The Old Mill had not had windows cleaned externally in over 7 years and being on a busy road this was quite apparent. Kenny from First Glass approached the building with a can do attitude from the start and immediately set to work on organising the access well in advance of the clean to ensure there were no hiccups closer to the time, being a student accommodation building we have to ensure the windows are cleaned in the summer. We arranged dates for the clean to be a Sunday due to road closure permits and council restrictions and all went extremely smoothly. The building now looks so improved; having clean windows has made such a difference! The contract ran so smoothly with no problems or concerns, for a contract of such a large magnitude this is a rarity, it was a real pleasure dealing with First Glass Kind Regards"
